César Guardia Alemañi (1994) is an Argentine photographer and cinematographer based between Mexico City and Buenos Aires. He studied Cinematography at Universidad del Cine (FUC) in Buenos Aires and at La Fémis in Paris, and later completed the PhotoEspaña Master’s Program in Photography in Madrid.

His staged, large-format photographic work explores human nature and its most intimate processes, addressing memory, transformation, loss, resilience, and the complexities of interpersonal relationships.

In 2024, he was named Fine Art Photographer of the Year at the International Photography Awards (IPA) for his series Towards Intimacy. The project was exhibited at the House of Lucie in Athens, as well as in Budapest, Buenos Aires and Venice.

In 2025, his series Where Only They Remain, photographed in Mexico, was selected for the IPA Best of Show 2025 and exhibited internationally in Athens, Los Angeles, Ostuni, Italy, and Budapest.

He was subsequently awarded the Fujifilm GFX Challenge Global Grant for Ecos de Resiliencia (Echoes of Resilience), a project rooted in the inherited memory of the 1944 San Juan earthquake in Argentina. The series was also selected as a finalist in the Hasselblad Masters and has since been presented internationally in Tokyo, Kyoto, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, and Madrid, including exhibitions at Fujifilm Square Tokyo and PhotoEspaña. In 2026, Ecos de Resiliencia is presented in its first solo exhibition in Bogotá, Colombia, at Akira Gallery.

Guardia Alemañi participated in the CENTER Santa Fe Portfolio Review in New Mexico, where his work was selected for publication by Lenscratch and for exhibition and feature by Arte al Límite.

He is represented by GalleryLabs in Argentina, with whom he has exhibited at Pinta BAphoto and The Red Door Gallery in Buenos Aires. His work is held in private collections in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, as well as in a museum collection in Chile.

Alongside his photographic practice, Guardia Alemañi works as a cinematographer and is a member of the Argentine Society of Cinematographers (ADF), and represented by 9AM Cinematography Agency.
